Bio

Dr. Laura Cayce completed her undergraduate education at the University of Missouri - Columbia majoring in health sciences and marketing. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine from Logan University in St. Louis Missouri. While pursuing her doctorate Dr. Laura enrolled in additional course work to pursue a Masters in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. Dr. Laura graduated with honors, completing both degrees in 2014. She is a board-certified Chiropractic Physician in the State of Illinois with certifications in FDM, FMS, SFMA, Graston and Mckenzie Method. 

During her time at Logan, Dr. Laura was hand-picked to be part of the Chiropractic team that served her Alma Mater - The University of Missouri’s football program as well as other athletes in the NCAA Div. I University’s athletics programs.  She was also selected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team at ParaQuad in St. Louis, treating patients with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, as well as treating the USA Wheelchair Rugby Team. While completing a preceptorship in Chicago, Dr. Laura had the pleasure of working with Northwestern University and Benedictine University athletics programs. 

After graduating, Dr. Laura entered into private practice and has continued to work with athletes of all ages, ranging from youth development programs to professional athletes. She understands the physical demands of being active, what it takes to compete at the highest level and how to stay healthy to perform at your best. 

 

Teamwork is at the heart of Dr. Laura’s treatment and therefore she will work with her patients and care providers, coaches and trainers to make sure her patients are receiving the most efficient care that suits their lifestyle and performance goals.

How do I book any appointment?

Do you accept insurance?


I am out of network with all insurance carriers, however, I can provide a receipt with the information necessary for self-submission upon request. Any receipts for insurance self-submittal will be produced after the 1st visit, and again at the end of the active care plan.




How do I pay you?


I can accept payment via check, exact cash amounts, and credit/debit cards as well. Health savings accounts work well for payment.




What should I expect throughout treatment?


• Objective findings and testing • Establishing a recommended treatment plan • Home care and exercise program • Determining over all health goals • Discuss length and frequency of treatment plan




Is My Primary Care Physician involved and do I need a referral to receive treatment?


It is not necessary to have a referral to receive treatment. If you would like communication with your primary care physician about your diagnosis, treatment and progress with care, we are happy provide you with a summary or contact them on your behalf.




What do I bring to my appointment?


Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in and allows access to your point of pain. Clothes such as sweatpants, gym shoes, or other work out attire.





Policies

Cancellation Policy


We kindly ask for 24 hour notice should you have to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If we do not receive advanced notice - you may be charged a cancelation fee. We suggest that you schedule your appointments far enough in advance to ensure that you receive the appointment times that you need.




Late Policy


We advise you to arrive 10 minutes early. Please call and let us know if you are running late so we can accommodate you. We ask our patients to be on time, however, we understand that situations do come up. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to accommodate you. If this happens, you will need to reschedule your appointment and you could be charged a cancellation fee.




Payment Policy


We accept cash in exact amounts, checks, and credit/debit cards as forms of payment. Payment in full is due at the beginning of your appointment. If you have purchased multiple sessions, you must use these services within 1 year of purchase.




Refund Policy


We do not offer full or partial refunds for unused packages or services.

What is Chiropractic Manipulation?


Chiropractic manipulation is a manual modality that can restore mobility to a joint, relax surrounding soft tissues and decrease pain. This technique attempts to use the normal biomechanics of the spine and extremities in order to create motion in spinal or extremity joints, with the goal of restoring function and structure to the joint. The chiropractic adjustment is a powerful tool that can decrease pain, increase healing and promote overall better health and performance.




What is Manual Therapy?


The purpose of manual therapy is to reduce adhesions or scarring, aid in proper healing and increase oxygen and nutrient delivery to your muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia, thereby allowing for improved function and decreased pain. Whether it is sprains, strains or chronic injuries, treating the soft tissue structures consisting of fascia, muscles and nerves, is absolutely crucial to improving overall patient outcomes.




What is Functional Rehabilitation?


The aim of Functional Rehabilitation is to simply restore normal function to the joints, soft tissues and nervous system. The Doctors both hold a Masters degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation, and through their education and training they have developed the skills to become thorough and effective at treating various sports injuries.
